Ok, I'm here again with yet another review on earphones but unlike the other reviews I think unless someone buys me Westones new Triple version of the UM1/2 as a gift I will not be reviewing any more in the near future. Why?, because I believe these are as good as it gets!
I can make direct comparisons between these and their nearest rival the Ultimate Ears Triple Fi's because for a time I had both. The Triples I bought 5 months ago and loved to bits but then I was bought the SE530's by Santa this year and really couldn't justify £500 worth of phones so I spent a while deciding which I liked more with a view to waving one goodbye.
beleive the hypeI have had these a little over a week now. They sound great. so much better than anything else I have tried, and I have tried a lot. The trebles are clear and bright, and the bass is just right. heavy enough to please most, but not so heavy that it takes over. The fit kit is brilliant especially the black foam tips which I found the most comfortable ear tips I have ever tried, and excelent at providing a seal for isolation. The modular cable system works for me, but I can see that some may find it less comfortable. The PTH module is an interesting idea, but a bit gimicky. I am glad I got it but more for the novelty factor than usefulness. I think if I were buying again I would opt for the slightly cheaper option without. Overall this is a superb set of earphones, you really do have to hear them to believe them. I love them and would recomend them to anyone who loves their music. Save up and get a set they're great.
